This is a 6.7 mile out and back trail. Moderate difficulty, lightly hiked. Steady ascent all the way to the old lookout climbing 1,873 feet. The trail connects with another trail that comes down from the Moran Patrol Cabin. The cabin is a short distance away following the ridge line northwest to the next peak and is not a bad place to stay the night. Half the trail is under tree cover and the other half is open. The trail is very narrow for about half the hike.

Nice hike with my dog. Half the trail is under tree cover through the forest and crosses several small streams. The other half is pretty open so you need some sun protection. Moran Patrol Cabin is located near by on the north west end of the ridge line. Trail is very narrow through the forest part of the hike.
