Really nice day hike. The terrain changes frequently which helps to keep things interesting. We didn't go all the way to the lake but, stopped at the falls for a break and headed back out. Did this hike today, last week of September; gorgeous colors throughout the trail. There were two tricky spots where we had to cross deep, standing water. Keep an eye out for a good walking stick to help cross, if you don't already have polls.
I started this hike from a trail located on the north side of Mill Creek. It was a decent hike with lots of views of the mountains. It was not as difficult as canyon lake trail or Blodgett. I thought the falls were nice. Made for a good day hike.
Great hike to the falls! Has a beautiful little swimming area. We didn't hike the whole way, just to the falls. Great for dogs! Lots of water and a pretty easy hike overall.
first 2 miles are very scenic and beautiful, you get to enjoy the water. The next 3 miles to the falls is practically all open with no shade, although views are nice you are away from the water most of the time until you reach the falls. There are quit a few areas of overgrown trees and brush that you must push your way through it made me feel like bear bate! My review of this trail may have been a little more favorable but i went when it was over 100 degree's outside, no shade made for a hot miserable hike. Although I do have to say the waterfall was beautiful and there was a nice swimming hole at the base.
Excellent, easy trail and gorgeous views from every angle!
