Started at the parking lot since the road was closed. Took a detour to the lake, highly recommended at the tail end of winter. Overall fun easy hike

A beautiful hike thru a cinematographic and lush forest with overlooks into the McDonald creek and falls. The trail is well marked and today was a beautiful and bright day to do this hike as it wasn't muddy or foggy. We didn't see any wildlife except for some squirrels:)

Comfortable walk with gorgeous views! John’s pond was mediocre but everything else was great.

Nice, short hike with things to see at every corner. The creek and waterfall at the end of the trail are a nice way to end and circle back.

This is not a hard trail to follow, but do the top half first then then come back by way of the river. A quiet little lake awaits you on the top half and a roaring falls greets you on the bottom half.

Did this hike at 7am and was the only group on much of the trail. Johns Lake is special early in the morning when steam is rolling across it. And McDonald Creek is a must do in Glacier, no matter how you get there.

Falls at the end were pretty. You can walk on the rocks near and in the falls.

This is a decent trail to get away from the crowds and to enjoy a quick walk through the woods. There are some parts where you walk near the road, so that wasn’t the nicest. However, the walk through the woods and near the creek is beautiful. I would rank the trail itself a 3/5, but we saw a moose near the lake and lots of deer so I had to rank it a little better. Overall a quick and decent trail to hopefully see some wildlife and to peacefully enjoy the woods.
