Amazing trail. Camped on the north side of the lake--there are some small spots, not well established. Didn't see a single person while we were on the trail. Highly recommend this one. Not a easy as a day hike for inexperienced hikers. The creek crossing is not well marked, but everything else is straight forward. It's really cool to get under those Como Peaks and so close to El Capitan!
This was one of the most pleasant, scenic and enjoyable hikes I've taken. Start off at the beautiful Lake Como, where there are plenty of folks in boats enjoying the water. If the level is low enough, you can explore an island near the boat ramp. From there, you'll gain quite a bit of elevation, but the wild huckleberries along the way make it well worth it. Little Rock Creek Lake is a gorgeous spot to spend the night and set up a very comfortable camp for fishing, stargazing, cooking, and enjoying the clean mountain air. We met only one or two other groups on the trail the whole time.
