Island Lake Trail is a 1.3 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Fishtail, Montana that features a lake and is rated as difficult. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from June until September. Dogs are also able to use this trail.

Absolutely beautiful! Some parts are pretty intense but totally worth it.

Nice hike with good fishing. Option to continue along trail to Silver Lake or bush-wack along Huckleberry Creek to Huckleberry, Princes, or Avalanche Lake (none for faint of heart). Have gotten to lake on snowshoes but would not recommend to beginners.
