Beautiful terrain but it's a steady climb with lots of shale/rock. I wouldn't take a dog unless it has boots or you keep the hike short.

This hike takes you around the cabin creek river where you can view huge mountain rocks, wild flower fields and natural forests. The hike itself is not very strenuous, but there are parts of the path that are pretty narrow.

great trail. went early May and it was beautiful, creek is really full and fun to look at. about 2-3 miles in it became impassable due to snow pack though. if you go early I the season like me landslides and trees won't have been cleared yet so it's a little more dangerous than it would be otherwise. But very very beautiful and easy hiking.

Fishing in Mid-May was good. Using a spin rod and lures was effective. Use silver spoon lures or silver color Rapalas. I was only getting action from Rainbows, but they were all 20+ inches. I recommend using a boat to get into the deeper areas of the lake. If you are coming from out of town, the Marina on the lake will rent steel framed boats with small prop engines for about $30 for 4 hours.
