Well marked. Nice views over the city - great for a quick 30 min trail run

Nicely maintained trail, with options of less traveled paths to go more along the rim.

WalkingGreat!

We did this and recorded on the Four Dances Trail. The recording didn’t accurately record. We are still new and didn’t quite make it to the river, is steep coming back up. Can’t wait to get more experience under our belts.

HikingGreat!

Under dry windy conditions, I thought I was in the high prairie. The cliff-face comes as a surprise. Not a very long trail, but the views are excellent. I recommend heading left from the main collection of benches, over to the lonely bench overlooking the Yellowstone River. It’s well worth the extra effort!

views are nice by the cliff, though there's not much to be gained from walking the full loop, which had views of the parking lot, highway, and cell towers, over just going straight to the viewpoint and back

Very nice and quiet trail. You start off in single formation, but it widens once you get to the top and are able to see the river. Gorgeous views!

this trail is great. I took both routes, and I went off trail and yet there was still an overgrown path to follow down to the river. it get very steep going down to the river, and is recommended for those with stamina. there is a ton of shade once you start descending though. The round way is very scenic and worth the lack of shade. so many bugs and plants to see. the view from a top the ridge is just stunning as well

The trail to the rims edge was very wide and my wife and I were able to walk side by side. There are some break taking views of the Yellowstone River, but also some not-so pretty views of the Conoco oil refinery just across the river looking towards downtown Billings. It was a really easy and short hike to the rims top and back. The gravel on the trail was loose in places which made it slick coming down.

Fun time, pretty narrow trail. Was overgrown in some areas, had to watch for snakes.

Was in the area for a work trip and wanted to get an activity in before heading to the airport — and the rim loop was perfect for that. We got there around 6:45am and were greeted at the trailhead by a really nice man who gave us a map of the trail options in the area (there’s also a loop that goes down to the river, but apparently it is really bug-dense right now). Also, we were in luck since this weekend is the Big Sky International Balloon Rendezvous, so we got there just in time to see 10 or so hot air balloons above Billings. A few came right over us and they hollered hello at us. I was astonished that nobody else in town had thought to go up there. We were the only ones there.

First to Review

This was the first time I‘d done this trail. I will definitely be coming back to this one again and again! The trail is well kept and wide enough to walk my two dogs comfortably. There was only one place that got a little confusing when the trail spilt off but it looks like both led back to the same place.
