This trail is experiencing full or partial closure due to COVID-19. Please see the open trails nearby for alternate hiking options. This is a mellow hike with a lot of fun bridges and little spots by the river to enjoy. The waterfall is spectacular and well worth the trip! This trail does not have a significant elevation gain, the majority of it is the very first part of the trail. You head down as soon as you begin the trail, which means that the very last part of the hike is a mild uphill incline. The trail is easy and the bugs were not overwhelming, there are several bridges and good resting spots. The foliage is very overgrown once you split off from the Gunsight Pass trail on the the Florence trail fork, some of it was above my head and I'm 5'7".

This is a good trail with picturesque mountain cove views. There are several rivers and smaller waterfalls plus a suspension bridge before you'll reach Florence Falls. The vegetation at the end is completely overgrown. One plant I came into contact with caused mild stinging for a short period of time so I'd advise pants and a long sleeve shirt. As others have said, the view of Florence Falls is worth it!

I hiked the trail on day 9 of my Glacier stay, after completing the more well known hikes. If you’ll do this first you’ll be disappointed, but as another side of the beauty of Glacier I loved it. Lots of river views, I didn’t get to see a moose but saw footprints. The falls are really beautiful and different than all water falls I saw on my trip. The spur is narrow but passable.

Overgrown vegetation on the trail at the end but the falls are definitely worth it!

My boyfriend and I did this hike, it is best to start early when it isn't as hot and also more parking available. We only seen a handful of ppl on the trail and they're spread out enough that when you get to the falls you'll probably be the only people there. The trail is slightly over grown and might be uncomfortable for someone who is about 5'5 or smaller due to them towering over you. The hike back up to the parking lot definitely is killer though. If you did the Virginia Fall's these are definitely bigger and more beautiful in my opinion. The reason being is you're able to actually climb into the falls and enjoy them a little more.

A great hike , the last mile before the falls could use a bit of a trim as the trail is real overgrown. The falls are amazing and photos do not do it justice. Not too bad of a hike until working your way back up the last mile and a half as it is a good climb up. Not too many people on the trail which was nice. Very green and some pretty views .

The trail is 95% walking through vegetation, sometimes very tall and growing into the path. There are a few good views of the mountain and river along the way. The vegetation only gets more overgrown as the trail nears the falls. The falls at the very end is very nice and beautiful, but I wouldn’t recommend the trail because the rest of the hike is simply not that interesting.

The pictures of the falls don't do it justice. They're huge and well worth the hike. For alpine, this is a pretty mild hike. It's a little overgrown in places so wear long pants or be prepared to get down and dirty with some stinging nettle.

Epic falls! Hard work. Totally worth it. Should not be rated as easy. Moderate at the least. Steep descension means Steep ascension on the return. These calves are on fire!!!

Hopped in from Canada to do a day hike. Hike in was good, a bit rougher than expected but the Florence falls are amazing at the end. The hike out was steep, and the gradual incline that wears you out almost more than a quick steep climb. My hip flexors were on fire! A new bridge was built across a marsh while we were there. Right before the falls there is a side stream that’s really strong and has blown out the rocks from the run off. If you have waterproof hikers you should be fine but if you have runners beware your feet might get completely soaked under water.

Horse Ford, about 1.3 miles in, is absolutely beautiful. That’s a gradual downhill for about 1.3 miles until you get to Gunsight Trail. Gunsight is slightly overgrown but follows St. Mary river and is nice. The Florence falls 0.6 mike (1.2 our and back) Trail is VERY overgrown, so much so that it was tough to see my own feet at times. The falls are beautiful though.

Great trail, amazing views!! Only reason for four stars is that the trail is overgrown and marshy (so...mosquitos!!) and the way back out is frickin STEEP! But definitely do this trail!! More than worth it!

The first waterfalls you come to, (Deadwood Falls), are absolutely captivating! Also, the Reynolds Creek campground is very nice. Make sure you bring plenty of water, the hike in is easy and downhill, but the hike out is steep!
