decent trail. You can choose from a "grassland hike" (adds .2 miles) or "badlands hike" (I liked this side better). The hike to the fossil is steep, but worth it.

Overnighted at the park, early morning walk on this trail. Great for my son who is a birder, saw quite a few; mountain blue birds, rock wrens, and some others I don't remember

It's a nice short hike up to a dinosaur fossil. However some of the steps are quite steep leading up to the fossil. Also be cautious of your surroundings as rattlesnakes are in the area.

While not ideal for long hikes the area is perfect for camping out and exploring Montan's badlands. The area is famous for it's dinosaur digs and dinosaur museum located in the park. It is a great stop on Montana's dinosaur trail and the wild flowers are amazing. The landscape is like something from a dream, with wild rock formations and the never ending sky, it is most definitely worth the trip. Watch out for rattle snakes and your good to go.
