The trail was easy enough for someone in good physical condition. I only wanted to use my trekking poles to get up the Redrock waterfall pass. The weather was crummy - rained 85% of the time and had some crazy winds, some of which nearly knocked me over. We did hear of a grizzly past bullhead lake and saw fresh droppings so we chose to turn around after the lake. On the way back we encountered a black bear who luckily ran the other direction. We also saw a herd of mule deer and could see mountain goats up on the mountains. Very beautiful hike that was worth all the challenges in the end. We took off around noon and made it back by 4:00 and only saw about 20 people total. Make sure to bring bear spray and make plenty of noise. I’d also advise going during a less windy time. The noise and speed of the wind made it difficult for wildlife to sense us which is likely why we surprised the black bear on our way back.

Great trail.... weather was spitting rain at first then as I got closer to Bullhead Lake the clouds up at the Peaks just turned into rain ... got soaked pretty good but still beautiful watching the waterfalls come down... Highly recommend

We did this the day we got to the campground and needed a shorter hike to stretch our legs. The views were very beautiful!!

Well maintained trail that was easy enough for my two kids (9 and 7) to do relatively easily. Very pretty views of the lakes and mountains. We did have two grizzly bears cross the trail in front of us on the way back from bullhead lake. Definitely worth the walk!

Easier than many Glacier NP hikes, this is a trail to three beautiful lakes -- Fishercap, Redrock and Bullhead, with a waterfall bonus. On the day we were there, we watched a moose in Fishercap Lake, and saw moose -- the same one? -- both morning and afternoon in Redrock Lake. Two of the lakes delivered breathtaking reflections. We benefited from a sunny day, many wildflowers, and being able to hike right out of our Swiftcurrent cabin. After hiking five trails averaging 10 miles each, we chose this shorter one not expecting much -- we were wrong.

We did this hike on a rainy overcast day. We have never been out to the many glacier area before so I'm not even sure what we were missing behind the cloud coverage. The entire hike was gorgeous. We didn't see any wildlife on the trail but we did see a lot of bear and moose scat. We saw a black bear from a very far distance after we were already in our car and heading back. Overall gorgeous. The cooler summer day was perfect. Fairly easy hike and not a lot of huge or drastic elevation changes. The lakes and falls are all beautiful.

Beautiful trail. Lake is nice, scenery beyond the lake is spectacular. Kids (9 and 4) enjoyed playing in the stream by the waterfall. Compared to Iceberg/grinnell/cracker this one is not nearly as amazing, but it's also a very easy 7.5 miles or so without much elevation change.

Don't forget the bug spray, mosquitos in abundance at the lakes.

Did this hike in 2016. Beautiful hike. Saw some moose and columbian ground squirrels. Will definitely be back to do the pass.

Hiked September 2017. This hike was a wildlife bonanza for us - bighorn sheep, 2 moose including a baby and 2 grizzly bears (at a very comfortable distance). The views down the valley were spectacular too!

Easy hike with very little elevation gain. We were hoping to see moose in Bullhead Lake. None were there, but we still had a great time.

We hiked it on a foggy day so you couldn’t see all the tops of the surrounding mountains. Felt like another world as a result! We didn’t see any moose but several hikers on the trail said they had earlier that morning. Just the right amount of people - not nearly as crowded as other popular trails in the park. Very flat, too.

This is a great first hike to do in Glacier as there is not a large increase in elevation. It’s a beautiful hike, great for all ages. You are able to see red rock falls along the way.

We did this trail yesterday (8/3/17) and it was the most incredible experience I had at Glacier. Don't miss the unmarked left fork that takes you down to Redrock Falls just over two miles in, after Redrock Lake. It's an incredible waterfall! Bullhead Lake itself was amazing and we went a little further down this trail up toward Swiftcurrent Pass. You get some fantastic views of glaciers and waterfalls, and if you brave the uphill the view of Bullhead Lake is not to be missed. The trail is relatively easy (especially if you skip the rise up to Swiftcurrent Pass) but there's so much to see. Take a peek at Fishercap Lake early on or on the way back--we missed seeing a moose because we skipped it!

Hiked 1st week of June, entirely clear of snow to the lake. If this isn't a 5 star hike, I really don't know what is. Pretty flat and numerous photo opportunities.

Lots of snow - some were snowshoeing and that looked easier this time of year!

The swiftcurrent pass trail to Bullhead Lake is a fairly flat (0.1% grade) hike. A great trail to spot Moose. The Redrock Falls are a great midpoint break spot. Great Views, Beautiful Lakes, Waterfalls and Wild Life.
