we went almost all the way to Ramshorn peak. fun seeing all the petrified wood on the trail
We did not go from Tom Miner but started on the Gallatin Highway by the 320 ranch. We rode to Ramshorn Lake. The trail was somewhat muddy and the mud was very slick but the trail is fairly well marked and it is beautiful up there. It had recently snowed so Ramshorn peak was covered along with Fortress mountain. It was sunny especially for Oct 12, 2011. The leaves were changing. Awesome.
