This is an easy there-and-back hike with a hot spring to soak in at the destination. The hot springs are closed to swimmers during spring flooding (undetermined date in May until undetermined date in July usually). Boiling River closes at 18:00 hours.

This is the most beautiful hot spring I've been to in the US. Will now do this every time I come to Yellowstone!

Fun experience of the icy cold river water and the super hot spring water mixing. There are rocks outlining the best places to sit and relax. We went on 8/28/19 and it was hot outside. Be prepared for hot and dry conditions and be sure to take a water bottle or at least have some back in your car for when you are done. We were rewarded with a curious female elk who came within 25 yards of us while we were soaking. Such a cool experience!

The trail itself is very easy, but includes a nice river view. The best part is swimming/wading in the river! It is truly a unique experience. The current is difficult to walk through but well worth it!

Not closed. Difficult to park but it is a special experience to be immersed in a mixture of very hot current (coming from boiling river) and fresh water from gardiner river. Is it worth it. In addition, a momentum came to drink.

Amazing hot springs in a gorgeous setting. Easy, short hike. Got there around 9:00am and had the place almost all to ourselves .

The water is too high so there are lots of signs that say it’s not open to swimming. Current is quite strong

Easy, short hike to an AWESOME little river that is literally, nearly boiling. Bring a bathing suit to make this one a 5 star!

Wouldn't really call this a hike. More of a simple walk. Still fun though.

Crowded, touristy and lots of bathers in the water at the end. Eh.

A walk not a hike! Expect to not go at your pace as your walking with many others. However; it leads you to the end destination of a “soak”.

Easy little walk to the Boiling River. Such a fun time. Read my blog post (https://www.brisul.com/blog/2018/1/15/boiling-river-yellowstone-national-park) and watch my vlog (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7E-06iSXOUc&t=5s) PS you have to pay to get into Yellowstone Park to get to this area.

Soothing to the body and soul. Nothing quite like submitting to the colossal powers of the world's largest super volcano by relaxing in the boiling waters just above it's monumental caldera. I believe that the parking lot closes at 7pm or sundown and it is strictly enforced so be sure to get there in ample time to enjoy the magic waters of the Boiling River.

Nice easy hike and the river is so awesome! Perfect for a soak after a day of hiking!

The hike itself is easy and short. I've been several times and seen bison, big horn sheep, deer, and elk along the way. It's prettiest in the winter, but braving the cold hike back to the car after swimming in the hot water is tough!

Super fun experience at Yellowstone! Be careful of the scalding hot water (I wouldn't bring small children here unless you are one of the lucky people to get a "sweet spot"). Saw snakes on the way to the water (not poisonous, and did not see any in the water, but who knows). Don't dip your face in the water because there are supposedly some weird bacteria that live there!
