I'd consider this one more moderate than hard. Most of the elevation gain is in the last half mile, but it's manageable and the view is worth it. We saw beavers in the pond early on, and moose from binoculars at the viewpoint.

This trail is not “hard,” but all the elevation gain is in the the last ~0.5 miles. The view is worth the uphill. There are many opportunities for seeing wildlife if you look. Saw two beaver dams but no beavers.

Moose frequent this area, lovely stroll through the woods. This route was not directly next to two medicine, which we preferred for a different view. Aster Falls was nice. Easy hike, low elevation

We did this hike yesterday just before noon - first half of trail super easy and comfortable for all - but also quite crowded. Once the climb starts - fewer people and the view of the valley at the end is wonderful! Tip:: Take time to spot the beaver in the lower part - he comes out swimming once in a while :)

Amazing wildflowers, saw a moose at a small lake on the way in. Passed the beautiful falls too. Just kind of steep at the end, but not bad. Two medicine is generally more windy than the west side. Intense wind, so layers are a must.

No idea why this trail is rated hard or for “experienced adventures only”. Last .7 mile gets a little steep, but nothing crazy or scary. Nice easy first part through some meadows and a beaver pond. Ends with a short climb up to the vista with some nice lake and mt views. If you’re looking for a short trip, I’d recommend this.

Nike hike. Saw some moose in small lakes about mile into hike. From base of falls to top pretty steep but worth the views.

So I did this trail as a multi-path so Rockwell Falls down-back, to Aster Park down-back, to Aster Falls, then back to the parking lot. Rockwell Falls, was fairly simple and straight forward, it takes you though dense overgrowth at times, amazingly open fields surrounded by mountains and wildflowers, and tons of greenery. If you're early make sure you bring a stick or something to get rid of spiderwebs. There is a suspension bridge which takes you over a mini river it's extremely fun since its very unstable (definitely stick with one person at a time on the bridge...or else). The end, ends on a bridge which you cross and it takes you to the lower falls. Though I highly recommend searching for the "not so obvious" path which leads to the upper falls and it's secret waterfall swimming pool hidden by the rocks! I also did Aster Park which was pretty rough after the initial 6 mile hike at Rockwell since it has like 5-8 switchbacks which go directly up....but the top view is very worth it considering it's roughly 3-ish miles round trip. It will give you pretty much a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and lakes - plus there are a lot of wildlife at the top who may end up bothering you for food... I ended with Aster Falls which is at the bottom/beginning of Aster Park which isn't even 0.1 miles long but still well worth it for a look at one of the smaller yet wonderful waterfalls of Montana.

Fantastic trail. Definitely a lot easier at the beginning. The switchbacks at the end seem never ending, but the view from the top is amazing.

This trail is listed as "hard", but I'd call it more "moderate". Very pleasant trail. The falls aren't overly exciting, but if you continue to the overlook, it's well worth it. Just past the falls though, the trail gets more steep, so heads up. Lots of wildflowers along the length of the trail. Signs indicated bear activity, but we didn't see any. Lots of bugs, so bring the bug spray!

This was a fairly easy hike to start. We saw moose and ate lots of yummy berries along the way. Berries = bears so look out and make noise. The hike up seems steep and unforgiving but it does get better and once at the top you will love the view and Columbian Ground Squirrels will happily greet you as you eat your lunch at the top!

My 11 year old son and I did this hike 3 days ago and it was a nice hike bit not my favorite. The waterfall was not in my top favorites but the view at Aster Park Lookout was good. Easy hike to the waterfall and then it goes up hill for .7 miles.

nice easy hike to the falls. Be sure to go up the extra 1.2 to the overlook, that is an amazing view!

The last 0.8 mile is indeed quite steep. Watch for loose rock at the top. Fabulous views of Two Medicine lake.
