This trail is well used and has turned into a fine thing indeed. Suitable for kids but at the same time a super speedway for a seasoned biker. One of those trails that seems all down hill. A series of switchbacks followed by grades into cuts, across water, back up the grades and the whole thing just repeats the same form over and over with slightly varying layout. A total gas, faster and faster, I can scrub the corners off a new set of tires in a day here! The switchbacks when dry will develop a groove of rubber, just ride in a hard as you can, no brakes, lay it over till it slides, pump into the next. Down the grades, seasoned rider can achieve high 20's. The cuts are all some form of a water or streambed crossing in a corner. For fun I start with a clean bike and see if I can make a lap with no mud on my front tire, at these cuts I bunny hop to sideways over the water and berm off the other side and up with hardly any loss of speed. The cuts are different so to make a "clean lap" with no mud on the front tire I wheelie or manual over the ones that are not bunny hopped. I never counted them but there are probably fifty of these cuts in an 11.75 mile lap around the well rode outer loop. If I stay on my carbon fatbike bike at a fun speed a lap around the outer loop takes about an hour and twenty minutes. Probably way faster for a light FS bike with young conditioned rider. All that being said, BE CAREFUL, visibility at speed becomes limited with increased vegetation of summer. I have had near misses with deer and hikers. A head on with another biker is possible here. Most people park at the primary trailhead off Highway 67 on rd 3107. A couple miles up this dirt road 3107 is another parking area that allows several loop combinations from the center trails of this system. Please report ATV or horse activity on this trail as it is far to nice to let them ruin it unchallenged.

The is such an awesome asset for our area. 25 miles of well marked trails for all to enjoy. There are two trail heads and both have a map and the trails are well marked. The north trail head, accessed from Highway 67, has a bathroom facility. You will feel like you are in the middle of the forest (which you are!), however you are close to town.
