Deer and other wildlife is plentiful in the area and often seen. White Alloe Creek Conservation Area is adjoined by the Parkville Nature Sanctuary. Four short loop trails, ranging from .1 miles to .9 miles in length are found in the Santuary. Highlights between the two sites include a water fall, abundant wildlife, several streams and a shelter built on the foundation of an old girl scout cabin. A section is ADA accessible. Trail guides are available at the trail head. No Bikes, no dogs, and no motorized vehicles.

The waterfall is as lovely as you can find in the area. Great place for a low key hike with a friend. The only con is, no dogs allowed.

Wooded trail but beautiful! If you’re not into mud though, check the weather from a few days prior. It can get muddy due to some inclines.

Nice trail in a little suburban town. The map on here shows a combination of the Old Kate Trail and White Tail Trail. The “official” White Tail Trail is about 1.5 miles, but if you add in the Old Kate Trail at 0.9 miles and take a few fun detours, it’s easy to get to the 3.0 miles listed on this app. Overall a great trail that I plan on visiting often. It has good uphill climbs that can be a bit technical with steps and rocky terrain. Very well maintained overall and beautiful trees and plants to see along the way. Don’t waste your time with the “overlook”. It’s only 5 feet higher than the trail and doesn’t offer anything but a higher view of dense trees.

Whitetail is just one of several short trails at the Parkville Sanctuary. I liked them all. My favorite so far has been Old Kate Trail. But, the Whitetail trail goes up on a tall hill, winding around so it isn’t too steep. Some of the areas are wet right now but still very little mud. My 7 year old and I had a wonderful day and will definitely come back when we have greenery and flowers to look at. A wonderful place to bring kids, a leisure hike, or running trails. No dogs or pets allowed.

The waterfall pictured in this listing is on the Old Kate Trail (at the same location), _not_ the Whitetail Trail.

Really fun and pretty! Nice short and well maintained. Great Sunday morning hike if you’re looking for something quick just outside the city. We saw a woodpecker at the top of a clearing. Way cool!
