Just finished the south loop. took us 64 year olds 4 hours
with dog in tow. A bit hot today but all shade from the trees. ACouple places trail needs some work, but flowers and butterflies were beautiful. yes again when temp is 80 or under.

Long enough to make it feel like an outing yet not exhausting. I'd suggest sticking to the original planned route direction (to the right) after crossing the bridge. We tried to do the hike backwards and got lost a few times since there are no blazes facing you in that direction. Beautiful campground and facilities at Hawn State Park for those that wish to stay the night.

Good hike. Several creek crossings and water was higher due to rain. Was glad I had my tall and waterproof hiking boots!
