This loop covers the west side of this trail area. Trail can be overgrown in spots and the leaves on the ground further obscure the trail making is somewhat difficult to navigate. The hike is moderate with lots of obstacles, downed trees across the trail, rock outcroppings, steep inclines and you will have to cross the stream many times. There is a seasonal waterfall as well.

beautiful hike. watch for pink ribbon for trails.

Great hike - waterfall was running enough to create a pond for my dog to play in - it’s a short hike but lots of beauty out there

A little steep in spots, but a nice hike. Very pretty scenery! Wear your bug spray! Trail is narrow in spots.

Unfortunately the weather was too dry and the waterfall was nonexistent. The hike was great nonetheless with lots of rock formations. It is a very narrow path and even with the dry weather there are several small creeks to cross with muddy soft banks and slick rocks. Definitely a little more challenging for older hikers.

we love going there. its beautiful lush dense woods. beautiful falls after it rains. can be muddy and slippery. bring extra socks.

Both loops with water/falls. Very beautiful.

The canyons and stream were beautiful. You're going to need to wear waterproof shoes after a ton of rain as the streams are not at all easy to cross here.

Beautiful rock formations.

No water off the falls today but still beautiful and a nice short hike. Beautiful rock formations. We will be back during the rainy season.

Great cliffs and kickass rock formations. Super fun and easy trail.

amazing views, lots of big rock bluffs.

Very nice, but not super long. Glad it wasn't too busy. Some parts of the trail are very weedy and we saw lots of snakes and ticks, so pay attention.

My favorite short hike in the Farmington area!! Gorgeous!!

Take note that this is a rugged trail for beginners. The scenery was beautiful but I was dissapointed that the waterfall was not flowing when we went, even though we have had rain in the area for a few days. Also, watch out for snakes-we encountered two copperheads on the trail. We will come back again to look at the waterfall.

I loved it. Diverse terrain for such a short trail. Love all the water crossings.

Absolutely beautiful even in February . Probably better in the spring or fall but worth the hike! There are actually 2 trails here one that goes down to the water fall and one on the same side as where you park!

Short Hike to Canyon. Trail across road also that we did not take. A lot of fun. Short and Spectacular.

Good easy hike. Took the kids very easy for them. Pretty views

Loop trail can be bit rugged at times, but it is good little walk. Shorter trail is worth the quick walk down for the box canyon view.

Nice trail but it's only 1 mile. It even says so on the sign.

Nice hike down through canyons and back up. The trail can get a little rugged and hard to follow at times, but worth it. Went on both sides of the road. If you don't have much time or struggle with the rougher trails, take the half mile out and back.

Amazing! Every hiker in Missouri should hike this trail. It's short, but worth the drive.

I was pleasantly surprised how much the views changed in such a short trail (I did the mile one). Very pretty, I'd love to go back after a heavy rainfall.

Short trail but it is beautiful, peaceful, and has a waterfall after rains.

2 trails were not bad. Short 1/2 mile trail has some nice attractions for taking pictures. Longer 1 mile trail will give you a little workout. I recommend long pants or jeans. Trails were overgrown. You could make out the trail but in places vegetation was thick hard to see everything you are walking through. Short trail is right where you park. Longer trail across the street.

I'm not sure how this is a 3.9 mile trail. The trail is in two parts; a 1/4 mile segment and a 1 mile segment. It was nice enough but not worth a 20 or 30 minute drive from Farmington.

Pros: nice waterfall at the end of the 1/4 mile loop. Just make sure it's rained some or it's just a big rock and lots of mesquites.
