Lovely forest for trail. Went with our three boys - 10yo, 8yo and 1yo in backpack. Was a good length and difficulty for them. We are trying to build up their ‘tolerance’ for bigger hikes and this was good for that. Nice shorter hike with the family, but nothing particularly notable or special about path or scenery.
A good trail to get the heart pumping. No spectacular views, just a nice walk through the woods. You will hear traffic from 109 on the part of the trail closest to that road, but otherwise it was enjoyable.
This is a less popular trail in the area. I ran on it today at 9am and didn't see a single other person. Leaves are starting to fall, making for some tricky footing. If you're prepping for a hilly course, this is a great training area with a long steep climb clockwise and two shorter climbs going counterclockwise. The backside of the trail is my favorite. There is a nice half mile cruising area with great footing.

Trail is back open.
Trail is closed due to construction.
great trail for exercise with moderate uphill and downhill portions, spaced as to increase cardio, then downhill portions for a cool down. not a whole lot of scenery, but nice enough to get your nature fix while also getting your exercise.
Decent exercise getting up to the ridge, a lot of elevation but not too steep due to the switchbacks in the trail. Some nice scenery, but no specific points of interest worth mentioning. The only real drawback to the trail is that it's never out of earshot from the main road, so the traffic noise is constant.
Decent hike with some nice views. The listing should be changed though. It is no where near Washington, MO. It's in Wildwood, near Rockwood Reservation.
Turkey Ridge Trail is a very well designed hiking trail. Trail switchbacks makes tracking to the ridge top a breeze. Throughly enjoyed my January 2016 walk through the woods. Enjoyed viewing winter birds. Nice view of Hidden Valley Ski Slopes to the Southwest standout with their snow cover. The biggest and most pleasure surprise was NO TRASH! Well done hikers and trail maintainers!! Thanks!
i liked it just fine...i went
early in December so i didnt have to deal with any ticks. yes there is a bit of road noise...but it did not bother me at all. i will be back...i enjoyed the solitude...i did not see anyone else on the trail...and i prefer it that way...
Nice trail with a pretty good incline to get your heart rate up! Good for beginners. In May the area is saturated with ticks so make sure to wear hiking boots with taller socks or even pants if tolerable. My one complaint is that it is right off a busy interstate and it is VERY loud, therefor there is no wildlife. Personally, I was not able to enjoy the natural environment due to the cars whizzing by and loud stereos booming through.
Great for just a nice afternoon hike in the woods to get your energy out. The many hills help to get your body working for a good exercise, especially if you're a little out of shape!
