This is the Spring Brook Trail loop which includes a short section of the Devil's Icebox Trail. Devils Icebox Trail is primarily a boardwalk with several short spurs, viewing platforms and numerous stairs. The trail takes visitors to the most impressive geological features in the park including the 63-foot high natural tunnel known as the Rock Bridge and the double sinkhole. Also of interest are a limestone glade, Connors Spring and a valley formed by the collapse of part of the Devils Icebox Cave system. Displays tell visitors more about the cave system and the areas history. The hike down the stairs to the double cave entrance is refreshingly cool in the summer months. Devils Icebox Cave, which is upstream (to the right) is closed to the public. Visitors are permitted to wade in the underground stream at the cave entrance and into the 150-foot long Connors Cave, which is downstream (to the left). Flashlights, helmets and good shoes are recommended.

Nice, well carved trail! Has a stream to walk passed that was a nice view!

A great starter trail for our family. Did not get to cross the stream as some of us were not wearing proper shoes. The Devils Icebox was neat for my kiddos to see, though not a cave for casual exploring. The trails were very busy even in the middle of the week.

Really Muddy and super busy, but was a fun trail. Will go back and explore more of the trails in this system.

Very nice trail with lots of Karst topography to enjoy. The Rock bridge is fantastic. The only negative is that I think the mall would be less busy. Even midweek can be busy.

Great hike. Trail runs along side/intersects with Icebox Trail. They are not the same. You will get your feet wet crossing the creek. I hiked in the winter, I’m sure in the spring the trail is extremely muddy. Great hike!! I would hike this again! Make sure to grab a map. This trail links up with several other trials and off shoots. There are signs that are very helpful, but nothing beats a map.

My friends and I weren't able to complete the entire trail, because you have to cross a creek to complete it all the way and my sister wasn't wearing the proper shoes for that. But it's still a really nice, easy hike other than that!

My friend and I ventured here when we met up in Columbia and this was a spur of the moment wander. The trail was a boardwalk and the cave was very cool.

Got lost once so the 2.3 mile track was more like 3. Beautiful and a good time.

Awesome trail with great exploration

As other reviews state, the map is for Spring Brook Trail, which is a mostly forested trail that crosses a creek and is rated moderate. Some extremely large oaks and sycamore trees can be found along this trail. It’s a 2.3 mile loop trail. The Devil’s Icebox Trail is an easy half mile boardwalk trail that briefly runs next to the Spring Brook Trail and leads to a 63-foot-high Natural Bridge and Connor’s Cave. Connor’s Cave, of which you can explore the first 166 feet, is listed as a separate trail on this app but it uses the same boardwalk system as the one leading to the natural bridge.

beautiful views. love this trail

This map is actually for the Spring Brook Trail, but it hooks up with the Devil’s Icebox trail also. Trail was beautiful. Mostly shade and pretty easily navigated. I am glad I had the app because sometimes I would end up on another trail without realizing it. There is one place you have to cross the river, which could be difficult if water is high. But beautiful hike. I will be back.

so to start this hike is not 2.5 miles devils icebox trail is .50 miles. Very cool spot the natural bridge is awesome and the caves are amazing as well. This hike is all wooden stairs though no dirt trail. If you want to explore connors cave i suggest bringing a good light so you can see. Cave goes back 166ft.

Beautiful park, completely worth the drive. Between the caves, big mossy bluffs and flowing creeks..this park has it all. You can take the staircase trails or the nature trails and you won’t be disappointed. 10/10 would recommend.

Hiked it a second time today. Nice trails in the park. Just wished they had backpack or other camping options.

One of the best trails in MO. Great for the kids, boardwalk the whole way. Cave to explore, great views from up high. Really fun trail. Hiked it mid-day on a Friday and not crowded at all.

Explore the cave!!

It was very short but very fun. Interacting in the cave and seeing it up close was worth the trip from St. Louis.

Short hike (about .5 mile). All boardwalk with a lot of stairs. Conners Cave was interesting and refreshingly cool (temperature wise). We went on Eclipse Day so there were a fair number of people there. Luckily one of us had a flashlight but more light in the cave would have been better.

Boarded walkways or stairs most of the way now. Still a decent trek. Plenty of places to rest or check out the sights tho. Very well maintained.

Went with my husband and kids ages 5, 8,10 and 15. We all had a really great time exploring the trails and the cave. Very nice quick hike, water shoes and flashlights would be my recommendation for cave exploration.
