Getting There

This is the Spring Brook Trail loop which includes a short section of the Devil's Icebox Trail. Devils Icebox Trail is primarily a boardwalk with several short spurs, viewing platforms and numerous stairs. The trail takes visitors to the most impressive geological features in the park including the 63-foot high natural tunnel known as the Rock Bridge and the double sinkhole. Also of interest are a limestone glade, Connors Spring and a valley formed by the collapse of part of the Devils Icebox Cave system. Displays tell visitors more about the cave system and the areas history. The hike down the stairs to the double cave entrance is refreshingly cool in the summer months. Devils Icebox Cave, which is upstream (to the right) is closed to the public. Visitors are permitted to wade in the underground stream at the cave entrance and into the 150-foot long Connors Cave, which is downstream (to the left). Flashlights, helmets and good shoes are recommended.

Ample parking for RV and down. picnic and shelters, Restrooms.

HikingGreat!

Wide paths, fun to walk. I'm a fan of cliffside views. there were not any on this trail. Several accesses to creek beds if you like that.

Nice winter hike. Trail crosses a stream on rocks, and it is difficult to stay dry unless you have the balance of a tightrope walker.

Nice trails. A few areas could use a little more markings. The rest were great. Trails do get crowded at times.

Great trail! Scenic and well maintained, there is a creek crossing so prepare for wet feet if it has rained recently!

Nature trips

Nice, fairly easy, wooded, good forest scenery with caves. The Icebox boardwalk is very nice, good for kids, and the drop to the cave itself is great...90degreesF to 55 in less than a minute! Sadly there was some dummy smoking a cigarette down there. In COVID climate, maybe just make sure no one else is down there when you go.

HikingMuddy

Nicely shaded. Creek crossing, so your shoes will get wet. Not stroller friendly, due to steep, narrow, rooted climbs. Glad I left the Burley in the car. Definitely kid-friendly though.

Beautiful trail, lots of space to walk. A few trees to climb over that had fallen, but otherwise really beautiful. The devils ice box was closed, but you could walk near it and peek. We started hiking around 6:00, and finished at 7:45 after a few scenery stops. Minimal bugs which is a win for me!

Muddy trail but well marked. At the end of the loop the little bon femme creek was totally flooded and had to wade through 2 feet of water to continue on the trail.
