This trail meanders through woods closely following the Stockton Lake shoreline. It is natural surface with some great views. You can walk to a beach at the Umberview road crossing. There are also two beaches on US Army Corps of Engineers land. The main trailheads art at Orleans Trail Campground south and Hawker Point (18 miles south) This trail can be a couple miles or take it end to end for an 18 mile hike, bike or horseback ride. There are several in and out points at US Army Corps of Engineers boat access ramp roads. Call 417-276-3113 for details. This is a wooded area so expect insects and bring water.

Went with the intention of doing a there-and-back. I would not recommend doing this in the warm months of the year. Worst bug experience I have ever had and ended up bailing before the 5 mile mark. Will be giving it a second attempt once the temps dip below 50 if the trails are still maintained.

A great tail for a nice long day of hiking, biking or horseback riding. There is a picnic table on the Rutledge bluff with a nice view of Stockton Lake. This lake is a 25,000 acres pristine lake so enjoy it and keep the trail clean!
