Rocky Falls Shut-in Trail folllows the west bank of Rocky Creek to base of a 40 ft. tall cascade of brown, pink, and purple igneous rock. From there one can carefully climb the rock face to the top of the falls and explore the scenic area. The pool at the base of the falls is a nice swimming hole.

Words and pictures fail to do it justice. Was fortunate to have the falls to myself. Wasn’t expecting much during winter, but due to the recent rains, the falls were spectacular. Definitely a must see if anywhere near the area.

Short easy walk from the parking lot to the Rocky Falls area. If you stay to the trail it goes to the beach area. But if you go right and up the hill you can find a foot path that will take you through a wonderland of lichen furry things that look like another world landed up there! It’s a little slippery so hold on but what a view!

Great place to explore and see a beautiful natural waterfall and climb some rocks. Swimming area and picnic tables.

The trail was well kept for the most part. I had some difficulty crossing the two creeks at the beginning. I walked up and down the creek looking for a better way but there wasn’t. Attempted to go from rock to rock but they were extremely slick and took a early morning October swim (haha) I was under the impression it was 12 miles (6 in and 6 out) but it came out to 7 miles all together. The shut ins are beautiful and I didn’t encounter anybody until later in the afternoon (I started at 9:30 a.m). I came across a herd of wild horses so that was neat! Will be coming back again. Especially when it’s warm because there are some nice secluded swimming holes along the trail

Short gravel trail down to the Falls. Several shades picnic tables. Stair-step rocks to get to the top of the falls. The water is shallow. Great for little kids to splash and wade around. Beautifully peaceful falls! Worth the drive.

If you're in the area, you must stop here! It's a nice drive down to Rocky Falls. The 'trail' to the water falls is super accessible. This is a great place to go swimming during the summer. It's also nice to come out here in colder weather just to enjoy nature. This is a super popular place in the area to take photos. You can climb up the falls to the small creek at the top. The climb isn't too hard, and the view is gorgeous!

Quick out and back walk to look at a waterfall that consists of rocks 1.5 billion years old. That’s old!

Nice area. Pretty fascinating when you look at it from above. You park where it is. Not exactly a Wilderness Area, but a nice easy approach like this is nice at times and for some people.

Very short trail with a beautiful waterfall. We visited in the fall so there wasn't much water flowing. Fun to climb up to the top of the waterfall. There is an old mill located about 3 miles from here. Instead of turning off of Hwy NN keep going for about 3 miles past the rocky falls sign and you will see a sign for the mill down a dirt road, you can see the mill from this dirt road.

Waterfalls/cascades are rare in the state. This is a nice one. Not much of a hike, but nice swim hole in the summer, nice picnic area. This is a short spur on the Ozark trail also. Nice area to bushwack for more of an adventure.
