Easy to walk gravel trail, a bit muddy by the creek bed but the kids didn't mind! Good hike for young kids but I did have to carry the three year old for the last stretch along the road. There is also a short loop that we did not take. It is on the map.

Really pretty and peaceful. Not too much traffic. The old quarry leaves behind some interesting artifacts go look at. The trail itself wasn’t too muddy in most places even after some heavy rain. Loved it.

Love this loop, I’ve done it many times. Very pretty and the the “Short Loop” option gives you ways to mix up the hikes if you go frequently. Short loop is a steep drop/climb depending on your direction. Trail is well marked and usually dries out quickly after big rains.

This is my new favorite trail. It was clear the whole way through. The path is gravel, not to much incline. But will still get your blood pumping!

Very hilly but overall a great, well-maintained trail!

Just a beautiful trail through a lovely forest. 95% gravel so it would be fine on wet days. The climbs are gentle, but will still get your heart pumping. Great woodland views and interesting rock formations! The only thing keeping this from five stars is the return to the trailhead along the road...

This was my first hike after all the stay in place orders went into effect. Luckily trails aren’t shut down yet. Nature can do wonders when you’ve been stuck in the house for days. I really enjoyed this trail. Hilly in spots but it’s not too difficult at all.

Nice short trail with a decent amount of elevation changes. Lightly trafficked compared to others in the park. You can see the caves when you’re walking by the stream. There are plenty of place to cross over, but the entrances to the caves are fenced off. Overall, it was a fun hike.

Nice uphill challenge. Decent views. Green Rock or Trail Among Trees better though!

Nice hike today. The downhill side with the wooden steps was really icy. My friend slipped and busted his arse.

Great hike but not a fan of the paved path...it was drizzling and with the leaves it became extremely slippery...love the moss covered rocks...not crowed:)

Beautiful day for a hike. a little snow left in the woods and small amount of ice on the edges of the stairs. Lots of puppies out walking their families. Leaves are off the trees so you can see more of the hills. 50F, prefect temperature for a walk in the woods.

Short and easy. Wide gravel trail most of the way. Dogs loved it. Also, the trail is NOT closed. A short portion of the trail has been rerouted, that’s all.

Very well maintained trail. First part is the only section that is moderate, due to some uphill sections. Even those aren't that bad, though. The steepest sections actually had wooden steps built into the trail, so not difficult at all. The rest is pretty easy. Trail had light traffic on a Sunday afternoon. Not much in the way of views, but still a nice trail for an afternoon hike.

Nice hike on a beautiful day. Muddy and washed out in a few places after all the storms last week.

The offroading trails are what bumped this from 3 to 4. it's a good trail for beginniners and training. the continuous gunfire in the distance is a tad disruptive, though. cool caves if you jump off the path. the big caves are closed.

Trail is well defined and wide. Nice quick hike in the woods. Not overly scenic but nice nonetheless.

The Trails at Rockwoods Reservation are some of the nicest trails this close to St. Louis. You can cob together the Rock Quarry with the Trail Among the Trees and the Lime kiln for longer hikes.

Good trail - rather steep at the beginning of the trail - can see the old caves but they are fenced off now so you can not go in them anymore like in the good old days

Definitely challenging with elevation gains. We ended up veering off Lime Kiln to take Trail Among The Trees and then to Rock Quarry and back again. Both are pretty scenic, though Lime Kiln is more challenging. Would visit again. Lots of downed and dead trees in some spots, with just a few parts of the trail blocked by such (but still navigable). Part of a bridge is out on Trail Among the Trees so there is a detour around it, though we ended up going that way anyway and climbing up the side. We went on a week day and there was little to no other hikers there.

Short trail but one of my favorites. I have walked this trail several times. I think it is like a childhood memory type of thing. Very easy trail. I remember hiking this with my grandma as a kid. Has a cool old quarry towards the end. To look at it requires leaving the trail fro a bit.
