River Des Peres Greenway Trail is a 14.9 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near St. Louis, Missouri that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
This urban greenway is fully paved and usually gentle in slope. Two other parking lots at the Wilmore and Lemay Parks are marked here that are additional trailhead locations. There are several road crossings necessary to fully navigate this route. Cross safely and enjoy being out on the trail! Accessibility: This asphalt, brick, concrete, and wooden bridge trail is estimated to typically be at least 8 feet wide. The slope is estimated to be gentle to steep and range overall from from -12% (downhill) to 12% (uphill) grade. The estimated 8 to 12% grade section is located at about the 2.1 mile mark when heading south and is marked with a waypoint. This section is estimated to be steep both uphill and downhill. There are two alternate trailheads marked with waypoints that provide ADA-compliant parking and access to the trail helping to avoid the steep section.
Beautiful day. The trail was in good shape. I wanted to see if they had made any progress connecting River Des Peres Greenway to the Mississippi Greenway. Some progress has been made reinforcing the banks of River Des Peres on the Greenway connection. I noticed the Alabama street bridge will be closed temporarily on March 26th for repairs
The section of the trail north of Lindenwood is mostly sidewalk and not as nice as the rest.
Better for biking - though fully paved, clearly marked, and well kept. Boring scenery.
Southern part from Mackenzie to Lemay much better than north to Arsenal. Well-marked and maintained, connects to Grants Trail and JB as well.
Basically just walking sidewalks near busy city streets. Well-marked but not my thing.
Nice peaceful and well maintained trails. Lots of connections to other trails as well.
Rode from Francis Slay park all the way to the casino by the river. It was beautiful. What’s not beautiful, however, is QAnon, whom I heard all about via podcast. It’s like geocache for the right wing. Ridiculous. Then I talked to Erica, then Mom, on the phone.
I tried this Greenway for the first time. It was very pretty, although the water levels were really low. Erica and I talked on the phone about all sorts of fun stuff: spanks, monkeys, TV, and all sorts of silly stuff.
Started at Francis Slay park and took the River Des Peres Greenway to the Christi Greenway and up the hill to the house I grew up in. Took the trail back to the River Des Peres Greenway and went down to Hwy 55. They have put the last part of the bridge spanning River Des Peres at highway 55. I look forward to the bridge opening
The trail is in good shape. I saw some greenway workers removing graffiti. Thumbs up to you guys for keeping the trail in top shape. The bridge work continues on the bridge crossing River Des Peres near hwy 55 and River City casino blvd. this is a nice trail and will only improve when the connection to the Mississippi River Greenway is completed
Extending the River Des Peres trail by taking the Mississippi Greenway Trail to Jefferson Barracks. I access the Mississippi Greenway trail through Lemay Park and taking the bridge to River City Casino. Work is still in progress connecting the River Des Peres trail and the Mississippi Greenway trail. When it is completed it will provide another long safe trail ride. This ride is about 18 miles out and back. This is a great trail to ride.
They were clearing brush off the side of the trail today. It’s nice to see them maintaining the trail. Very nice trail to ride but not very much shade on the trail. I started at Schlafly Tap Room and rode down to Lemay Park and back. Time for a Kolsch beer. Maybe two
This is a nice trail. The area near the Shrewsbury Metro station is lined with wildflowers. This trail can be easily linked up with several other trails. I chose to continue on to Lemay Park. This trail can also hook up to Jefferson Barracks Park for an even longer ride. The trail starts about a mile from Schlafy Bottleworks which would also be a great spot for a beer after the ride.
This is a path along a rode. Not the prettiest part of the city. River Des Peres
Round trip bike to yoga at the annex with Melanie. Candle melt ambiance. She’s got a playful and authentic demeanor in her teaching. Then free avos,
went up to get some juice and had a chicken kabob and a peach tea CBD with bourbon. another festival at Carondelet Park
