The Pinnacles Youth Park is a privately run area north of Columbia. The trail to the pinnacles is wonderful, narrow, and sometimes steep. There is also a rock shelf on a spur at the west end of the trail. This is a great hike with wonderful views of the Silver Fork Creek Valley.

Short but pretty challenging in some areas. Not for young kids. Beautiful views.

Been hiking here since childhood. (30 yrs) Moderate trail that can get challenging but well worth the trek. Views and creeks are amazing. Very family friendly.

Fun little area to play in! Don't expect to vigorously walk for miles, but rather enjoy climbing up and down on the rocks. Great views from the Pinnacles, and I'll be going back in the spring to explore some of the area beyond the Pinnacles themselves. The only downside is that it is used quite a bit so you won't get that feeling of being alone and one with nature, but I'll go back on days when I want to play on rocks instead of doing a true hike.

Great fall hike. Followed the trail to the right and found the cave or whatever you call it. We found a bat sleeping! Crossed the stream by rock hopping. Short distance to the rock formations. Had a great time climbing on them and finding a little danger. It's not easy hiking around the rocks. But people have made some easier trails to bypass difficult sections. Don't forget to drop a donation into the pole by the sign. This is a privately maintained park and donations are needed to keep it nice.

Nice little trail, I had to cross the creek to hike up to the pinnacles or you can get there from the road.

Loved it. Reminded me of being in Colorado when on the rock outcrops.

Weather was nice, we went around 4:00pm and had the perfect amount of time to spend checking out the stream...walking the trails. Nice to get out into nature and get some exercise. This was a short trail, wish it was longer. We enjoyed the family time.
I've tried to add photos 2x but it won't let me...I'll keep trying

Awesome place!

As soon as you get there you walk straight to the creek and rock formations. There's a trail to the right that will take you to a large rock overhang that runs along the creek. If you want to climb on the big rocks you have to cross the creek. Be prepared to get a little dirty.

Awesome place to camp (and hike) with your kids. It has several nice pavilions, tree identification signs along the trail, and an ampitheter with stage. Awesome for groups!

Nice short climbing faces available and crossing the shallow creek on Icy rocks was thrilling. The view from the Pinnacle was spectacular and not another soul on New Years Day 2015
Wish I had another friend left below to take pictures of me at the summit. There is a hole formation in the rockwall that looks like a Heart and a deep rock shelf at the side of the creek at the end of a pathway

Great place for being in mid-Missouri. You can climb on top most of the rock formations although it is a steep drop off to the creek below. The trail getting over to the rock formations is not very hard though it does go up and down some hills. Awesome place for a short hike.

I absolutely love this trail but it can be so much more than the 2 miles or so that it claims. Once you get to the top of the Pinnacles, you can explore little alcoves with a gorgeous view. After that. Start climbing down and to the other side of the Pinnacles. There is a lot to explore back there including lots of mini waterfalls, a rocky beach, and just overall a pretty park. Take the road less travelled with this one (of course being careful in the process).

Pinnacles Youth Park is a gem. The trail up the Pinnacles is narrow and sometimes steep, and you are rewarded with great views of the valley from the top. The Rock Shelf at the end of the West spur is also a great stop. The trail is high, so people who are afraid of heights may want to stay away from this one, as well as hikers with small children. The trail is very narrow in places, with steep drop-offs. I highly recommend this trail. It's short, engaging, and beautiful.
