Phillips Lake Trail is a 1.6 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Columbia, Missouri that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Gravel trail circling the 40-acre Perry Phillips Lake; good place to search for waterfowl, grebes and other waterbirds, especially in winter. Meadowlarks, mockingbirds and a variety of sparrow species are common.

Flush toilets with running water from April 15 to October 15; Porta Potties rest of year. No water fountains but water in bathrooms seasonally. There is a boat ramp and fishing docks; only trolling motors are allowed. There are 2 picnic shelters and several benches along the trail.

We had a decent breeze while we were there but it is in the sun. I’m not even sure if you need to put sun screen on as it is a short trail maybe a umbrella if you burn easily.

Chat trail in good condition. I didn’t see many birds but it looks like if the conditions are right that this could be a very “birdy” trail.
