The Meramec River is one of the longest in Missouri, flowing almost 230 miles as it meanders through the Ozark mountains on the way to the Mississippi River. It is a spring fed Class One float stream renowned for its trout fishing. Very Scenic and few signs of civilization in its upper portions. Float launches at the hwy H bridge at Onandoga State Park and ends at the boat ramp in campground 3 in Meramec State Park.

Meramec river is a meandering spring fed class I float stream. Very scenic in the upper portions. Many sand bars for primitive camping. Great fishing. Great for kids. Many outfitters and can be canoed a couple miles or a hundred miles. highly recommend. Many outdoor recreational opportunities in the area.
