Muddy/unpassable on the section that crosses Meremac Bottom Road. On the bright side, we saw an entire herd of deer!

The paved pathway was clear, but the wooded path was too muddy today.

I managed to make this trail interesting. Instead of the straight shoot out and back, I took the trail to the left that loops back to the main path. That’s was an adventure! Lol. Make sure you have your high top waterproof boots. Highway noise for last straightaway. Next time I’d opt out of that. Lots of paths to the right for views of the river and alone time. Moderately trafficked. Cool trees in the forest and swamp-like scenery

Paved the whole way. Perfect for after a rainy day if you want to go for a walk in the woods without getting all muddy. Highway visible during last bit of the trail, but otherwise woods and river views.

Nice easy walk on a paved path along the Meramec river. One end goes next to highway 55. I saw nutchatches robins and a woodpecker.

Walking

Flat & paved. Saw over a dozen different bird species. Wooded. Nice stretch along river. Definitely take the tall timber trail offshoot. It only ads 0.5 miles to the round trip distance.

Easy, paved hike. You get a lot of highway noise and a view of highway 55 about half way through. Still a nice hike with die good views of the Meramec river.

Explored around Suson Park and Meramec Bottoms today. Ridiculous weather. Very hilly as well. Probably hit some dirt trails tomorrow if I can help it

This is a good running trail. It’s all paved and has a view of the river. It does flood easily and it can be very busy at times.

Road biking

A really nice paved trail with river views and lots of shade, but it is easy to see how the trail floods easily. Moderate amount of people running, walking and biking. Glad someone else recommended the bug spray due to the proximity to the river, the areas off trail look like wetlands in most places. Trail was easily accessible for road biking at both trailheads. There is a segment that is in full view of the interstate, but while power lines, a billboard, and road noise aren’t my idea of nice, my boys thought it was cool. All in all, very enjoyable ride.

Tried to hike the trail on 18 Jul 2020 and it was closed. Went to Suson Park instead. Rating of 2 is not a Indicator trail quality, but of trail unavailability.

paved trail along the Meramec. it was flooded and closed in one part due to the flood and mud. there was a lot of stagnant water and horrible mosquitoes. Don't go here after a recent rain storm.
