Trail markings get confusing on some parts of the hike and need to be repainted. That said, had a good hike even if we had to go a little further than intended. :-)

Started at lot #62 Hunter/Fisherman parking lot and entered trail, rucksack and all. Had a map in hand of the trail, yet the trail itself was horribly marked and I had to turn back around after about hiking at least 1/2 to 1 mile and never finding camp #4. The last actual sign I had seen was pointing me in a direction to go down a dry creek bed and it just wasn't looking right. Disappointed so I'll try and get more info from a game warden who's familiar with the area and can give me some knowledge of the trail.

Great trail, beautiful foliage. Kids ages 3-11 did really well on it.

Horribly overgrown, very difficult to navigate at some spots. Attempted to do the "long loop" but we left our machete at home so we turned around to complete the short loop, which was still pretty bad. Definitely needs some maintenance.

Awesome trail. There is a 2.5 mile loop that follows the lake for some great views and brings you right back to the trail head right across from Black Jack Marina. The trail is well marked and in great shape, there are portions that are harder to follow, especially when the leaves are down. Overall an amazing hike for some fitness or scenery. There is even a tent site about halfway through the loop. You can make this hike a lot longer and more difficult by skipping the loop going straight to the hunter fisherman access about 5 miles in. You can keep going past that to the final access point which ends up being about 8 miles. So you could really make this hike 16 miles if you wanted.

Very rugged but well marked. Great workout and lots of wildlife. Says loop, but more in and out than loop.

I enjoyed the trail, however, the trailhead says it is five miles to the hunter/fishermen access, but it is closer to 7.5 miles.
