Not a tone of shade and lots of road noise, however I only did 2 miles of walking so it may get better

Might be one of most interesting part of the Katy Trail, more curves and hill (small) easy ride. Watch coming back into Clinton if strong wind from West to Southwest. A long hill into wind. Fun ride.

Basically no shade and a gravel road. Don't let the picture fool you

My fiance and I did almost 5 1/2 miles in. Lots of highway noise. Not much to see in the early spring. I'm sure it's much prettier in the fall. However, it did make for a great walk.

Katy trails is a great long distance rail to trail system virtually spanning across the state. This is just a short segment. Did it with the boy scouts.

Rode from here to Windsor mid summer, then Windsor to Sedalia early fall. The first ride was warm, but the trail is quite shady and in early fall was beautiful. I would call this a leisurely ride. There are a couple small hills, but very gradual. Great scenery for mid Missouri!

Biked from Clinton to Windsor and back again on November 3, 2013. Weather was okay. Little cold to start....quite a bit of wind. I've not rode this section of the trail before, mostly due to the things I've read online about it...it didn't sound very scenic; however, this time of the year, it was gorgeous! I was pleasantly surprised by the scenery. Don't let the first mile or so from Clinton fool you, its beautiful. There were quite a bit of areas of trees. Mostly pasture land along side the trail. From Clinton Calhoun, you are riding along side the highway, which takes a little bit of the peace out of it but from Calhoun to Windsor, you leave the highway. Gorgeous pastures, rolling hills, babbling brooks. Very impressed. The trail once again feels like it was uphill both ways. This is one of the more challenging sections of the trail. Not near as flat as say toward Rocheport but I would not say this was a difficult section. One large tree blocking the trail that needs to be removed. Otherwise, trail in great shape. Definitely experience this in the fall!
