This is one of the most scenic urban park that I've ever seen. The grand basin area in particular is amazing which overlook the art museum. The attractions in this park, the art museum and zoo are a must see destination if you're in St Louis. I find the history museum a bit of a bore though.

Beautifully built trail along historic Forest Park. Give yourself plenty of time to explore. The Jewel Box is at the end of the park, and further along you hit the Zoo. Great trail, easy for children and pets. It gets congested early, and be warned there will be a LOT of people. Its not a wilderness hiking trail; it's the main path through Forest Park. However, it's terrific for jogging, biking, and running/walking. You can meander off the path and find little spots for peace and relaxation. All the museums are free, Art and History plus Science Center. This path will lead you to each however it does not lead to the Arch. You have to take a different trail to that but all the Museums can be accessed by this trail.

A great trail for walking, biking, etc. there are so many ways you can allow yourself to “get lost” wandering through the park. Or, choose to stay on the main path. Easy to follow. Water bottle refilling stations are along the trail. It is most congested along the north side of the park/trail.

I really love the walking trails in this park. You can hit the pave trail or the gravel trail. I like that you can really get a nice work out (walking). There are a lot of hills through out the park that makes your work out a little different than just walking a flat trail. Depending on the time that you go (or if there is an event in the park) it can get a little congested. I like going early in the morning. But whenever you go, you will enjoy yourself.

Tourists and residents alike I suggest getting a Forest Park Guide book or read on the history of the park/area before embarking on park exploration, this will make the experience more enriching.

My family and I rented bikes for the day and explored Forrest Park. We had a great time and the park was very easy to navigate. My 7 year old son was able to keep up on the trails and my 20 month old daughter rode along in a Burley. There are 30 miles of trails that run through the park. There are bike racks at all the different places that you can stop and visit. You can pick up a detailed map from the visitors center which is very helpful; however they do have basic maps placed along the trails throughout the park. Exploring the park by bike is definitely the best way to see the park. It allows you to cover the vast area in the most efficient way.

Lots to see in this beautiful park; you could easily spend hours walking around here. Mostly a relaxing sightseeing tour experience, in my opinion, but I would love to go back!

Mostly paved and out in the open unless you go to the Kennedy forest area. There's a small creek and more hiking-like conditions.

I thought this was regarded as the forest park trail, but guess not. I ditto what the reviewer said before me.

I've hiked the kennedy forest. Very small and loops on itself, but convenient when you live in the city where there are few options to be surrounded by trees.

Fantastic Park - did a short 2.5 walk with a Meetup group - divided bike/walking paths are a plus.

Love walking these trails during the week--weekends can be a little crazy, with all the tourist activities in the park--so parking can be a pain. However, there are multiple routes to take, and plenty of restrooms and water fountains. Still my favorite place to work out!
