Nice St. Louis County Park located just east of Eureka off Lewis Road. Trails are well kept that run through woods up and down bluffs. The Chubb Trail trail head is also located in the park. 4 Miles of trails are located within the park. Part of the park's trail system connects to the Chubb Trails. Trails are well kept with plenty of room for hiking, mountain biking and horse back riding. Parts of the trail consist of dirt path, gravel covered and bed rock. You will experience a few elevation changes on the trails. Park has excellent facilities.

Been 15yrs since last here and that was on a MTB. Still as rugged as I remembered. Good stuff though.

Easy to get to, challenging but not too hard, scenic, good elevation changes, well marked.

Love this hilly trail! You feel like you’re deep in nature the only downfall is that the highway is pretty close and it is noisy.

A nice hike that provides a few easy elevation changes and some nicew terrain. Had no problem following the trail, though they did add one switchback since this map was made. Saw a lot of mountain bikers who were all very friendly and considerate. No horses.

THIS is what I look for in a great 'hiking' trail! Lots of elevation changes, several different terrain types (rock, dirt and gravel). Nice wooded views and mostly shaded. The only thing I believe could've been better was the trail markings; a few times I had to get my phone out to see if we were still on the trail (or which direction to go at a fork).

Great trail...good mix of loose and packed rocks, gravel, roots, and limestone boulders; mostly shaded; some single track areas and a few decent hills. Would definitely run this next time. Only issue I had was nearby construction noise (the "beep beep" of equipment in reverse.)

Nice, short with slight elevation. Kept very clean and marked. It was a good starter for the "Summer of Hiking!"

Watch out for bikers and horses. The trail has lots of scenery to offer and is easy to follow. Make sure to bring a lunch and enjoy one of many benches in the park.

Trail was well maintained and 99% free of litter. Hiked on a rare 70 degree February day and saw several other folks. Several great valley views, and overall very nice scenery. Some good ups & downs to get the heart rate going as well as some easier sections. Minus one star because you can hear the highway almost the entire time.

The trailhead here is pretty, even before you hit the trail. There is some short hills but nothing even this beginner hiker wasn't able to handle. I love the part of the trail that runs along side a long rock bluff. All shady it was comfortable even though it was warm and humid today. It still had some boggy spots from rain a few days ago, and the mosquito were irritating even though we sprayed ourselves with Deep Woods Off, but those two things couldn't dampen our enjoyment of the trail.

The trail is close to St Louis and has a couple nice views. Some mountain bike use. Picnic table at nice spot about halfway point. Historic Native American sites along trail where mining pits show excavation for flint to make arrowheads and other tools.

Loved The Chubb. However, it was so overwhelmed with water no hikers went in like we did. We had to take out boots and socks off and walk through rivers and snake infested fields turned into ponds to get through. The mud smells rancid but it was fun. If you start at Lone Elk and do the loop, the uphill at the end is challenging, especially with a pack. I found it to be a great challenge and the cold water invigorated my feet to keep going. Can't wait to do The Chubb dry and see if it is still challenging. The part of the trail that goes through the pasture is not so great. Sandy area is good exercise but very overgrown, hard to watch for snakes and not any changes in elevation. The second half of that trail goes through the woods that look like, if there is a Bigfoot, it is definitely living there! Do The Chubb!

Sloppy on the Lone Elk side after some heavy rain. But beautiful and green. The West Tyson side is tough but a real treat.
