With all of these positive reviews, I feel like I must have taken the wrong path! I parked at the Warren School Road trailhead. I only made it 1/8 mile before the kids were crying! The path was completely overgrown with thorn bushes. We had cuts all over us and I finally had to pick up our poor dog to keep her from stepping on the thorns. Definitely not going back here unless they do some major path clean-up.
Fairly good! The trail was nothing special, but the overlook was pretty cool and the stairs and uphill incline give you a good workout on the way back!
We drove to the Providence Access parking lot, then got to the Overlook trail by walking along the Katy Trail first. The climb was not as difficult as I anticipated. Fortunately they have resting benches along the way to take a break if you need one. We didn't see any eagles on our trip, but there were plenty of other birds and vultures! It was a peaceful hike. We didn't encounter any ticks or mud either, so it must depend on when you go.
Starts out on what’s marked as private property but then leads to the trail. Overlook of Perche Creek is a beautiful sight and a perfect spot to take a quick rest before walking back. Definitely recommend hiking boots-muddy and tall wet grass.
Well kept trail, great over look into perche and Missouri River and flood basin. Easy footing, not muddy, connects to MKT at bottom I think. The end leading up to MKT has ~160 wooden steps to climb down right before the turn around. Pretty trees and covered well with canopy.
At first the trail was overgrown and we all got a ton of seed ticks on us but the trail does get better and the views are amazing! That last part kicked my Butt on the way back up!
Beautiful prairie leading to the bluff top overlook. A steep path and 160 steps lead down to/up from the Katy Trail, for a nice strenuous out and back hike with gorgeous views. Spotted a large hawk and something smaller, maybe a kestrel. Magnificent fall day, terrific for hiking.
