Very nice trail around the large lake. Heavily trafficked

It’s a beautiful, paved trail but can be crowded. Lots of speeding cyclists, so be careful with young kids on a bike.

Very well maintained paved trail. Quite busy at 8 am on a Saturday morning.

Definitely an easy “hike.” The lake is always busy from Spring to Fall, so it’s best to go in the mornings. Nice paved pathways, and has many activities on the lake as well. Parking is typically easy although here are many people around.

My wife and I had a blessed day here. We did the 4 miles loop and watched the sunset. We managed to escape the incoming thunder storm.

There are several loop trails available within Creve Coeur County Park. This review is only for the 3.7 mile Lakeview Trail loop directly around Creve Coeur Lake and not the combined Creve Coeur Lake and/or Mallard Lake loops. I hope that this will help differentiate and take the confusion out of all the loops referring to other parts of the park. Besides walking and jogging, you will find many bicyclists using the paved path circling this main lake which has a marked yellow line dividing line for clockwise and counterclockwise traffic. You will also see families with baby strollers and inline skaters on the path. The trail tends to be busy on most fair weather days and can be extremely busy on the weekends. There are several points around the lake that you can park at but the most popular tends to be Sailboat Cove on Marine Avenue. The park is enjoyable year-round. It makes for a great alternative to hiking on natural earth trails in our area when the ground is wet. Just be aware that after numerous days of extended rains, some parts of the path have been known to flood. That is not too often but you can check the St. Louis County Park's website for trail closure information.
