The trails meandors through the woods in a East SouthEast direction before going south. 1/4 of the way through there is a Yellow trail shortcut. Awesome trail. Get ready to cross some wide creeks in the rainy season

Would definitely choose to wear waterproof hikers and bring some water shoes as well. The trail has water across it in several places, some mud pits, and a couple of water crossings. There are some areas that have a lot of larger loose rocks, so foot traction is important. It’s tick season so make sure to use bug repellent. Traffic was quiet early in the morning, but was quite busy after lunch.

Awesome trails! Be ready to get a little wet. Some areas were flooded/muddy. Had to cross over the river a couple times, but it was a lot of fun. Definitely worth the 3 hr trip from KC!

Took yellow to the red and did the loop on the red trail back to the yellow. It was really a nice 4.2 mile hike with little traffic early in the day.

The only downside was the 2 river crossings.

It was a good hike! We brought our dog and he had such a good time. Trails were very muddy at times and lots of loose rock, but overall it was a nice trail. We were going to cut through by the river but the water was a little too high for us to want to get in. Saw a little waterfall as well

Nice trail to spend a couple hours. Definitely want to wear waterproof shoes this time of the year as the trail was very wet/muddy.

This trail is very pretty! The yellow trail is a bit long and may be difficult for children/older individuals (it has some loose/slick rocks and a steep hills). I’ve seen a lot of people complain about spiders... I didn’t see too many, but come on... you’re in the forest so of course there will be bugs and spiders! There’s a lot of pretty views! The creeks are crystal clear and there is a pretty neat 1800’s cemetery! I also love how dog friendly this place is. Go check it out!! Some advice before you go! Bring some water shoes, etc because you will have to cross some streams to get to the trails. There are also a lot of people riding horses, so watch your step

We truly enjoyed our hike. There are signs posted to help stay on the trail, but gets confusing in some spots.

This trail made for a great hike! The vegetation changes a lot throughout and includes wild flowers, cactus, rocky inclines and creek beds, and prairie. You will definitely get wet crossing the creek. You may also see a snake or two.

Overall this is a good trail, but there is a section overlapping the Silver loop that is not well marked. I enjoyed the river crossings (bring water shoes, the rocks are sharp). I didn't see much in the way of wildlife, but the butterflies were plentiful, and I saw one water moccasin along the trail.
