Heed everyone’s warnings on here! Very overgrown. Very easy to lose your way. Take a trail buddy! And make sure to grab a long stick on your way into the woods, to knock down all of the spiderwebs. Because there will be lots of them! At one point, we were so lost (even with the app in record mode) that we almost resorted to just walking towards the traffic noises to get back to where we parked. Instead, we ended up barreling blindly through the brush until we finally met back up with the trail. The southern loop might not be very long as far as distance is concerned, but it takes a long time to complete it because it’s hard to navigate through all of the overgrowth. It was a challenge, which was rewarding. But I wouldn’t go it alone on this trail.

trail is not marked and very overgrown. very easy to get off trail and get lost, even with the highway nearby. do not recommend unless you are feeling brave.

This trail is not well-kept. It is very over-grown with many spider webs and poisonous invasive plant species creeping on the trail. It does have a lovely creek, with a sweeping view at a high point. Unfortunately, the noise pollution from nearby factories causes quite a distraction from the nature. It is definitely secluded, but not quite a break from urban life.

Parking is awkward- you just park on grass. I love the area and the trail. I would not go by myself because it is very secluded and not heavily used. The creek is lovely.

If you are like me and enjoy a primitive underutilized trail, this is for you. At times the trail is hard to discern but that just makes it all the more challenging.

This trail is very scary. Lots of weeds. Poison oak is WAY too close to the trail.

Several trails paths not on the map. Lost the trail at one point and had to backtrack. Walk through the woods is nice though.

Cool trail but some parts were overgrown and I kinda felt nervous by myself out here compared to most trails... not heavily used I don’t think.

No marked parking spaces - didn't get towed though. trail is difficult to see at times, and wrong paths easily followed. Several places that the path washed out, bit possible to get around. A pretty enjoyable hike for a Sunday in January

Great for people used to rigorous hiking! Not so great for a midday stroll. Lots of steep uphill walking. Had to climb over and under many large roots and fallen trees. Our dogs loved it! I would not recommend this trail after heavy rain. Will be coming back!

Unless I wandered WAY off course, this is little more than a game trail. I'm writing this in late April, and I still almost needed a machete. I had to crawl in places to finally get back out. I ended up walking my dog down the parkway for a bit so the trip wasn't wholly wasted. I really don't think it should be listed on this app.

it was a great trail just lots of spiderwebs that you would constantly run into. other than that it would be great to do again.

Follow up edit: Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department has no record of there being a trail here. The pedestrian bridge exists only to help children safely cross the steam on their way to school, not as any part of a maintained trail system. ---- As others said, lots of spiders. This seems less like a hiking trail and more like a game path. It is not marked and in several places completely disappears. I'm not sure this was ever a real trail and not just a path back to some homeless encampments.
