We really enjoyed it. The trail itself is easy enough it get started and hard enough to be a good cardiovascular workout a couple times a week. The path is dirt, rock, sand and runs through water areas for cooling off. The trees canopy overhead and it’s delightful for bird watchers. Whether you are looking for exercise or just to be in awe of nature’s beautiful display

DO NOT GO. Went yesterday morning and the trail was severely overgrown. We left the hike absolutely covered in deer ticks and spent the rest of the afternoon picking and scrubbing them off.

HikingGreat!

This was a really nice trail- I prefer this trail to the Cuivre River Southern Loop Trail. I faced no issues on the trail, a little buggy— I found (literally) one hundred seed ticks on my body.

Nice trail. Lots of spider webs in the face. Had Permethrin on and still ended up with two ticks latched on by the end. But that’s expected. It was around dusk so saw tons of deer and the sunset was beautiful in the valleys and along the creek. Once we made it back to the gravel road portion it was pretty dark and we did not see anymore blazes (we had flashlights). Luckily, I’ve done this trail before and knew which way to turn, but could be very confusing to new people as the trail meets with other trails at that portion.

Very pretty and secluded hike. We really enjoyed it, but as others have noted: it is pretty overgrown, which contributes to ticks.

Nice trail, easy to walk in most places. Beautiful views. A young doe trotted up to within 20 yards of me before she winded me and took off. I spooked a Turkey, too. I enjoyed the sounds, sights, and scents all along this hike.

It was pretty the times we could look up! While ticks are normal this time of year, the overgrown trail made them a lot worse. Two dozen and counting off my dog, and another dozen between me and my fiancé.

Good hike, but found about 7 or 8 ticks on myself after the hike. I had pants on & everything. Suggest bug & tick spray before hiking. It’s rained a lot lately so some spots were muddy, but not bad.

Keep your eye out for ticks. My family of 4 found about 7 ticks on our clothes/in our car after the hike. Be on the lookout. Trail was well maintained and easy to follow. Was not super clear which way to go on the gravel section of the trail. We got caught in the rain so the streams were a bit sketchy to cross. Not super challenging, moderate hills.

Awesome hike!!! Great scenery. Took our kids (6 & 4) they loved it. Good hills and makes for a good workout. Good moderate trail for the kids to get started on. Highly recommend.
