Nice trail tucked away in the suburbs. Below is a video from a recent hike on this trial: https://youtu.be/nvRARDrF0aE

Started at Bethany Falls, then took the Prairie Connector trail (would have missed it if it weren't for AllTrails) over to Hickory Grove and Wildlife Habitat. All are great trails, especially Bethany Falls (even though there are no falls). The limestone formations are impressive and definitely worth seeing. The trails can be very icy in the cold, and very muddy in the rain, but as long as you have good shoes you should be fine. Would hike here again in a heartbeat.

Fairly easy trail with interesting rock formations. Part way up (before the rocks) there’s a short offshoot to the left. It’ll take you to a little, old, overlook. When we do all of that and climb around the rocks we get about 1.8 miles out of it.

Nice enough walk. Mistakenly thought there was a waterfall here. Did this on a bigger loop with Hickory Grove and Wildlife Habitat Trails

nice trail in great shape in October even after it rained. I did see a couple of hunting blinds in the woods. I didnt know you could deer hunt here. I'll wear orange in the fall from now on.

Amazing trail. I haven't been on this particular trail in burr oak woods and now I'm wondering why it took me so long! It rained over the weekend and with just one dry day the gravel trail was dry. Beautiful rock formations. Only came across two other hikers. Ignore the time on my recording as this was a meditative walk. Very restored!

I love this trail and all the trails at Burr Oak Woods. I visit every single day. BEWARE! Do not leave ANYTHING in your vehicle. Someone broke into mine last Sunday and stole stuff out of my trunk. I now park in a different location and walk in. Big time hikers may think it’s small time but it is beautiful!

So fun climbing rocks! Would love to see it in the spring. Beautiful river at the very end of my hike if you take the road less traveled there are rewards out here. Saw a lot of deer and vibrant wildflower pastures.

Didnt see any waterfall but the trail was level for the most part and shaded. The map on here was more helpful then the signs posted along the trail as well

Bethany Falls is another nice walk in the park for those who love to get outdoors and enjoy nature. There is plenty of shade on this hike and different sights along the way to keep the kids interested on this short trail. I took off on Sunday evening in early August. As another reviewer commented, follow the signs and go in a clockwise direction for the best experience. The cicadas were buzzing and the birds were chirping before dark. The trail is well maintained and there are several wet weather creek crossings along the way. There are a couple of places on the backside about midway where you’ll climb a few steps or flat rocks to gain a few feet of elevation before you see the limestone rock formations. If you’re up for some scrambling or rock climbing, you can follow some paths and do that, or make your own. I saw some wild violets along the way, and right when you walk the final stretch, the canopy of trees open up to a beautiful prairie and meadow. There is a trail connector here that can take you to other trails. You’ll then soon find yourself at the trailhead again which leads back to the parking lot where there are plenty of places to park your vehicle. A nice hike for the family! Pull up my recording for a pictorial view of the hike.

I had a lot of fun doing a trail run here. the rocks were a little troublesome but no big deal, plus even with the rain the morning it still wasnt too muddy cause of all the shade

Pretty solid hike for being in the KC metro. Not much of a challenge, but interesting rocks.

Entirely wooded trail with some interesting rock formations. I walked up on a Tom in full display. He and his potential mate and another male rival did not stick around for long.

Seniors - I'm nearly 71, 30 lbs overweight, and not in super condition. I walked this trail in about 30 minutes. I would rate this trail as Easy+ for seniors. The first half of the trail is mostly ascending with a few short, but steep, inclines. Also some steps and boulder/rock dodging in the trail. The sloping down areas have a loose surface, so shoes with good gripping soles are best. It's a pretty walk and has interesting rock formations along the way. Not a boring little walk at all! I wanted to walk about an hour, so walked across the parking lot and did 15 min in and 15 back to get my hour in.
