Very wet. Rainfall collected in the center of the trail in a lot of different areas. It was difficulty navigate and not get wet. This also made it extremely buggy; there were tons of mosquitoes even with bug spray on

It’s a cute trail and great for kids! There are lots of puddles after it rains (but that’s part of the fun). There is a nice pavilion over the water that’s a great place to have a snack. There are a few trails and it isn’t clearly marked, so it can get a bit confusing at times. But overall a really nice, kid friendly trail!

1st day hike on 1 Jan 20. Did it in our own as this park was not part of led hikes on Jan 1. Easy parking across from the trail. probably not available when the waterpark is open. Also a bathroom right by the parking area. Trail in decent shape. Circles around over to a marsh area and circles back to the starting area. Did see birds over at the marsh.

Nice free nature trail. Went their with our Webelos den. We hiked all available trails, and had to re-hike on a few trails twice to complete the final loop. Total distance was two miles. We saw large rabbit, evidence of wild hogs, a variety of insects, and heard a variety of birds. No issue with biting bugs. It has not rained in nearly a month, and there was one spot where we had to get creative to not have to walk through water on the trail. Otherwise the trails were in good shape. There is poison ivy in places, though it is not an issue if you stay on the trail. Just make sure you have the "Leaves of three, let it be" talk with young children before you come on the trail.
