Good ups and downs! There are some wet spots still however, they are easily navigable. Overall Great Trail

Love the trail. It’s been rainy so it’s pretty muddy. Only one tree across the past today.

HikingGreat!

Great trail, exceptionally well-maintained throughout the entirety. Not a great deal of breath-taking scenery, but it’s a nice walk in the woods with some nice open sections interspersed. Completed on a Sunday in January, saw a good deal of other people: dog walkers, Boy Scout troops, and mountain bikers. Keep an eye out.

So many hunters using deer dogs, so definitely wear orange if it’s season for anything at all.

BackpackingGreat!

1st All Trails maps nailed it (even the current detours and closures). Trail was easy to follow with map checks at a few road crossings. Muddy in places. Great overnight backpack camping (bring all your own water unless you want to boil stream water). Saw several deer. Biggest issue is hunting season. We passed at least four hunting dogs on trail (one followed us) and came across two hunters not more than 50ft off the trail. There are certainly warnings, but with thousands of acres, why anyone needs to hunt that close to the hiking trail, I don’t understand. I would not want to be hiking at dusk or dawn (or just don’t hike during hunting season).

Beautiful hilly country. Trail winds along side of nice sized hills and deep ravines. Great hike.

Well maintained and marked. Elevation change good challenge. Wildlife nil except for deer stands! Areas of harvesting timber unsightly as cutter leaving a mess with no sign of reseeding.

Had a great hike! Nice rolling path through beautiful quiet forest. Fall foliage lovely and there were little meandering creeks throughout. Trailhead parking had lots of cars but only saw a couple people I guess because it’s a loop and we must’ve been going in the same direction. Path was well marked but definitely take a picture of the map before you go! Theres a few times you have to walk the road to get to where the trail is picked up and a map helped me figure out which way to walk. Took me about 3 hours, overall excellent trail!

One of, if not the best trail we’ve ever experienced in Mississippi. Trail was in really great shape when we went as we had read there were a number of work days recently to cut back some of the overgrowth. It had rained earlier in the day and trail was very (very) muddy in spots, including some rather slippery mud on the inclines. Overall, the scenery was beautiful and diverse, with both dense woods and large clearings. Did the full 9.7 mile loop in just over 4 hours with our 12 and 10 year old daughters. Stopped only once for about 15 minutes to enjoy some snacks. We will definitely be back!

Only made it out about 2 miles because I brought my two young daughters, but they loved it! The trail is well maintained and not too difficult for kids. Thanks for whoever is maintaining it! There is also a nice lake area for picnics further down the road you can drive to if that is more your thing.

Enjoyed the trail very much and plan to be back soon. The top left portion of the loop was dry and only a few stagnant puddles in the creek beds. Plan accordingly. Loads of polite and happy mountain bikers today. We did run across a few hunters- make sure you wear high-vis colors!

More than 8 miles- more like 9.2 ish. Very well maintained, thanks to whoever is doing that. Didn’t see any trash along the entire trail. Passed a total of 6 people, and one was on a bike. Really great trail, and challenging for me, but still nice.

The trail is challenging with lots of obstacles, if that’s your thing. It’s not well marked, so make sure to download a map beforehand. It is beautiful out there & we had so much fun! Kudos to the 3 gentlemen we saw heading in on our way out with chainsaws to clear the path. You’re appreciated more than you know!
