Flat hike with good wildlife viewing. Saw family of mallard ducks, family of Canada geese, redwinged blackbirds, egrets, a beaver, and a deer. Interesting floating boardwalk over wetland. Location is very suburban: surrounded by interstate and apartments with an airport nearby. Overall, a nice easy hike, but no quiet and solitude.

My kid and I loved it.

We love Wood Lake! The boardwalk is a highlight, as are the great horned owl who live in the park. Very easy walking trails, but awesome to have access to in the city.

Great park, only downside is they don't allow dogs on leashes! I most likely won't go back because I walk with my dog and can't bring her. So unfortunate because it's such a beautiful walk.

Great place to spend an afternoon. The water has fish that come right up to the foot boardwalks, and there is plenty of different vegetation throughout the park. No dogs are allowed which is a shame BUT they want to cause as little change in the natural ecosystem as possible, so please do respect that rule.

I would also recommend bringing a lot of bug spray and shoes that you don't care much about aesthetically - the trails can be a bit mucky depending on the time of year.

Overall, it's a lovely place and is located right in Richfield so if you're local, you don't have a long ways to go.

Beautiful, secluded, wooded trail in the heart of the city. Very light traffic; I felt like I had the whole place to myself.

Nice sandy gravel trails. Sign says no dogs though. :(

Great loop but close to the highway. We like it because it's close by.

beautiful area right in the metro. Easy trails for leisurely walks. Lots of birds to see: barn swallows, mallards, cranes. Accessible by public transportation.

Secluded, quiet with a variety of trails, enough to get lost without a map or app. Many bird varieties, fish, water creatures. Coyotes and deer can be seen, if you're quiet. Especially beautiful just after a snowfall on x x skis.

Yet another wonderful encounter with nature within the city limits. Excellent birdwatching, just a great place to recharge without having to drive 3 1/2 hours.

Lots of deer and good tree cover so wind isn't so bad along most of it even in the winter.

No dogs allowed, bummer.

A good place for a quick getaway. The pics are from Winter 2011-12! A great place to exercise a bit and break a swaet while snowshoeing or CC skiing. With teh figure 8 out over the wetland AKA lake an daround one can extend the distance exponentialy. Along I-35W, bu tnot really a bother. The Nature Center rents snowshoes ($4.00) and poles for as long as u can stand to be out!
