Note that the garden has limited hours and does not open until 7:30 AM. The gate was unlocked, but I guess I play by the rules. The trail itself is wonderful. Signage not so much. Kind of easy to get turned around. Lots more trails outside the actual garden.

This hike is excellent for a quick escape into nature if you live in or near Minneapolis. Took the kids 6 & 9 and they really enjoyed it. Already asked to go back and bring some friends. There is a playground with swimming beach nearby as well. Perfect for a relaxing weekend day with a picnic. Nature programs almost everyday. The visitors center had a case with monarch butterflies emerging. The kids were amazed. Lots of birds and butterflies as well as wildflowers. Nice escape from the city.
