Tamarack Nature Center is a 2.8 mile loop trail located near Saint Paul, Minnesota that features a lake. The trail is good for all skill levels and is primarily used for hiking, walking, and running.
A smaller stroller and wheelchair accessible paved trail loop is also available in this park.
I took the outer path which was a combination of dragonfly and deer trail. there was a small section that had some ice and another small section that was flooded but those could be avoided. this time of year the highway was visible at times because trees don't have leaves yet. I imagine it looks better when it gets greener.
Very loud from the freeway (March 2). Maybe it’s quieter in the summer. Looks like it would be great for kids!
Trail was confusing to find but great once on it. Acorn is a trail that you can snowshoe on. Trail not marked well but if you just keep following the lake you will go in a loop.
Nice park, from the little of it that I got to see. Mainly I was on the Acorn loop. There is a stretch of this trail that is a bit uneven, and slanted, which might make it difficult for some. Many more trails in this park than the map here shows. Woodland, grassland, and wetland trails. Looks like there is a play area for the young'ns. Looking forward to more visits to explore this park.
Pretty views, uneven trail (acorn). Need to try a different one!
a couple of turns were not well marked so I ended up having to backtrack. surfaces vary from asphalt to sand to grass to wood chips and planking in wet spots.
Simple trails with little surprises (like a path through the forest)
Took a break halfway through. Great one hour if you go no breaks! Would not recommend as a springtime hike.
I’m sure the trail is great but the trail conditions were impossible.
Very nice trails overall.the trail will take you in the wood In swampy area and open space.
A simple and easy hike which is accessible to all ages. If hiking soon, the paths are quite muddy (small patches of water on the paths as well) and watch out for wooly worms and tiger salamanders crossing the paths. Mosquitos are out and about at the moment as well, they’re worst out on the deer trail.
