1.2.19 - Skipped the loop and just did the out and back part. Would’ve been nice to have snow shoes but with a little extra effort it turned out to be a beautiful winter hike!

The day was gloomy, foggy wet and muddy and it was fantastic! Mother Nature did not cooperate this year so all the fall foliage was already on the ground. The hike is a good climb, is quite rocky and I imagine the views are quite spectacular but it was too foggy to see anything today. I will come back and do this one again for sure.

Great hike today with my sister and daughter. Perfect conditions: dry, cool sunshine with a breeze. Great views of Superior as well as Bean and Bear Lakes. Very enjoyable hike, will do it again! Would love to do it in the fall when the hardwoods are at their prime.

Beautiful hike! We went April 21 just a week after there had been a snow storm that dropped 8-12” in the area, so lots of snow covered trail. We didn’t do the whole trail as we were not prepared for that, but would definitely like to try again when the snow is gone.
