What a great regional park. Walked around the trails and checked out the winding river. Looking forward to summer for some more greenery and kayaking!
This is my favorite place to walk! You can see varying scenery from woods to river to marsh to prairie. It is so beautiful. I suggest the horse trail which is just a little longer than the paved trail. Go up and see the pond on the north end, It's beautiful.
A great park for paved trail walking or non-paved hiking (using horse trails). Loops of varying length can be combined for 1 to 8-9 miles of hiking. Portions of the park are hilly. Great views of the Rum River, open prairie, marshland, and wooded hiking. See if you can find the foundations of an old homestead (guessing that's what it was).
