This trail was surprisingly very enjoyable! I say surprisingly simply because it is a mere mile or two from hwy 494! The trails were well maintained and we had a chance to be among the trees on some trails and in the wide open prairie on others. We saw a large snapping turtle, turkeys, frogs and numerous birds in the short 3.5 mile hike. Definitely would do this again and explore some of the trails we missed out on!
Also a major plus was the trail doesn't allow bikes, so no worries of someone flying by behind you!

Nice and secluded in most areas. Feel-good foothills and beautiful scenery around you. Dog and baby both enjoyed. Highly recommend for a city walk/hike.

Excellent paved trails for bikes and unpaved for hikes. Great for morning workout, plenty of great views and variation in scenery. Unfortunately MTBs are not allowed on the unpaved parts though they are very nice.

This trail is always busy, watch for the "pro cyclers" on the pavement as they pass through the area pretty quickly.

Great trails for being so close to the city. Many shorter intersecting trails give a good variety as you go.

This trail is a lot longer than 2.0 miles-more like 8-10 miles! It has lots of hills that wind through very pretty. woods and meadows.
