Very nice urban (small town) trail. Dog friendly. I have hiked often in spring summer fall and XC skied in winter. It is a GREAT trail-running trail. Also allows MTBs. Never did that there but many do.

Mostly prairie with some hardwood forest. Nice overlooks of Red Wing. This is NOT wilderness. Easy access from town. Free parking no user fee required.

Recommendation: it’s about one hour from Twin Cities right in Red Wing so easy for one day get away... short drive, nice run or bike, then lots of options afterward in town for pub grub before returning home. Or picnic right at trail head (Memorial Park). Fun one-day get-away possibilities.
