Start at Woods Creek, walk along Devils Track, and up to the summit on Pincushion and you will not be disappointed.

The Pincushion Mountain trails are great for skiing, but a little boring for hiking--wide grassy trails. There are great views from the overlook. The trail along the Devil Track River is much more interesting.

I'd recommend going straight to Pincushion overlook. We did most of the cross country ski trail, and it gets a bit redundant. The pincushion overlook is amazing though, and the cross country ski trails were great with the dogs, just won't do them as long next time :).

GORGEOUS! A good part of the trail is also for skiing, so it's well groomed and wide. Views are astounding, and even though it's not far from the main road it seems secluded and peaceful. Loved it!

A rewarding hike with spectacular views of Lake Superior and the Devil Track River watershed. On a clear day you might see Isle Royal. This is also a fantastic cross country sky area with groomed trails and degrees of difficulty to challenge all levels of skiers.

One of my favorite hikes! Just outside Grand Marais on the Gunflint Trail, lots of loops of varying difficulty, and the Pincushion overlook view is a fantastic payoff where you could spend hours exploring the giant rock dome. Beautiful anytime, especially amazing in fall.

The view is amazing at summit of Pincushion Mtn! One of the best vistas you'll see on the North Shore.
