Kadunce River Wayside Trail is a 1.2 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Grand Marais, Minnesota that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible year-round.
My wife and I enjoyed this very calm trail. You are next to the Kadunce River the entire time. There are nice little spots off of the trail where you can take in a cool view of the cliffs, water, and the fall trees. We even saw a little cave that had a really cool campfire at the mouth.
Go to the shoreline of superior and start walking from the mouth of the stream. There are 6 waterfalls within a little over a mile that are great fun to climb.
This becomes a very difficult adventure in the spring due to "healthy waterfalls".
The locals told us to climb this trail thru the river! We started up it - climbed several waterfalls! So much fun!!! You will be wet the entire time!
