Jay Cooke State Park Campground is located near Carlton, Minnesota. The trail is primarily used for camping and is accessible year-round.
The river edge trail is a very nice, scenic hike albeit short unless you continue on to the other trails. Near the St. Louis River the trails are worn down to dirt making footing and hiking easy unless it is muddy. The rest of the trails throughout the park are not mowed so tall grass and weeds will hit your legs constantly and get stuck between your toes if using five finger shoes.
